PAINT THE TOWN PINK
October is Breast Cancer Awareness
month.
In an effort to help raise awareness and early testing many
communities have gotten together and sponsored events and
fundraisers.
In an effort to help out we will be donating
100% of the proceeds from the
sale of Barbie Glinda the Good Witch from Oz Doll to the EYS
organization (Embrace Your Sisters) a local organization
dedicated to helping people in the Finger Lakes Region with
emergency funds when faced with a diagnosis of breast cancer.
The last thing someone facing cancer needs is to be concerned
about financial and other daily life issues. Their mission (EYS)
is to directly assist those diagnosed with breast cancer in
emergency situations. EYS provides short-term emergency
financial assistance which will enable clients to focus on their
health and families. EYS can also make referrals to other
agencies for further assistance.
This event is being supported by
Canandaigua’s Business Improvement District and The Canandaigua
Downtown Merchants Association as part of their Fall Into
Canandaigua Festival (10/6).
PLANNED EVENTS

Kick Off – Friday
October 5th
4pm- 8pm
Pink ribbons, pink balloons, pink paint cans and a few
surprise pink scenes can be found throughout downtown in
support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Live music with
Cactus Jack begins at 5:30pm. Downtown Merchants will donate
a portion of sales from Oct. 5th – 8th to EYS. Children are
invited to color the sidewalks with pink chalk. FREE.
Fall Into
Canandaigua Festival 10/6
Enjoy fun for the entire family! Scarecrow Contest,
including the area's largest scarecrow, Pie Baking and Beer
and Wine Making Contest, Food, and much more. Merchants with
pink ribbons donating portions of their sales!
Posters and Paint
Cans – The month of October
Displayed at downtown merchants collecting change for EYS
Raffles- Many downtown merchants are raffling off Baskets of
goods with raffle tickets being donated to EYS.
Fun, Fashion, and
Fondue – October 25th 5:30-9 pm
Icon Salon
Inviting everyone to introduce the Fall/Winter trends in
hair color and the newest spa products in a social arty
atmosphere. (Running specials on services and products with
portion of proceeds to go to EYS.)
