A merchantman under full sail, anchored in a border of shells, knots, and fair winds.
The Dutch built their golden age on ships like this one, and the least we can do is give one a wall. The Tall Ship runs before the wind in full cobalt rigging, every line drawn the way a harbor pilot would draw it, while a border of anchors, ropes, and shells keeps the sea at a respectful distance.
Nautical blue and white is the most forgiving decor there is: it agrees with every room that has ever smelled faintly of salt or ambition. Hang this plate above a desk, in a hall of maps and brass, or anywhere that needs a horizon. It is particularly good in rooms that contain a globe and opinions about routes.
Generous 10-inch fine ceramic with a high-gloss glaze. For sailors, map readers, and those who pack for voyages they have not booked yet.
Part of the The Delft Blue Collection of delft blue decorative plates.
Beauty is everywhere.
