Tulips, roses, and scrollwork in perfect symmetry, the dictionary definition of delftware.
Some plates tell stories and some plates are simply, magnificently, themselves. The Floral Medallion is the second kind: a great radial bloom of tulips, roses, and curling acanthus, arranged with the calm symmetry of a potter who has drawn this a thousand times and would be content to draw it a thousand more. Around the rim, small flowers keep their stations like a well-rehearsed choir.
This is the anchor of any blue-and-white collection, the plate the others arrange themselves around. It is equally happy in a farmhouse kitchen, a formal dining room, or that one perfect spot above the dresser where light lands all afternoon. If your walls own only one delft-style plate, make it this one; if they own all eight, this one still gets the middle.
Generous 10-inch fine ceramic with a high-gloss glaze. For purists, stylists, and keepers of the center shelf.
Part of the The Delft Blue Collection of delft blue decorative plates.
Beauty is everywhere.
