Biography: Lynes was a commercial fashion photographer for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar who secretly produced thousands of elegant male nude photographs. His high-contrast, theatrical lighting transformed the male body into classical sculpture. Most of his nude work was hidden during his lifetime and only revealed after his death, making him a posthumous pioneer of queer visual culture.
