Biography: Andrews spent years traveling across America to photograph queer families in their homes, creating one
of the first major documentary projects to normalize LGBTQ+ domestic life. Her work was revolutionary in the 1990s for simply showing gay and lesbian parents, partners, and children as ordinary Americans. She gave visibility to a community that mainstream media either ignored or demonized, and her photographs remain a powerful archive of queer family history.
